There’s a viral video sloshing about on YouTube these days, this post’s namesake. Not that this post has anything to do with car accident or even overly dramatic story-telling… it’s just the phrase playing on repeat through my head today.

We’ve just returned from two terrific weeks of vacation in BC. The first week was spent visiting with relatives in Abbotsford, and for the second week we rented a house in Peachland. In all of it, we spent as much time as possible outside and on the water. We took a ferry tour in English Bay, floated on our dinghies a few times, and rented a boat one afternoon.

For me, there’s little in this world more soul satisfying than water, sunshine and time with family. It was such a refreshing time.

But now we’re back home. My parents still need care, it’s back to work tomorrow and my car needs a wash :). There are Council meetings to attend, policy to review and a municipal election on the horizon. Change is a constant in everyone’s life, and we will have our fair share again this fall. Time to get our heads back in the game and strap on the turbo jets.

Reality does indeed hit you hard. Bro. But really, we’re blessed, and life is good. So Imma put on my game face and give reality a run for its money.

Cheers!
